So you’re probably wondering why PIN needs a blog, I’m glad you asked. One of PIN’s goals is to break down the “Us and Them” syndrome when it comes to dealing with the homeless. I have been all around the country looking at the way homeless ministry’s function and I often see this separation between the homeless and those of us that currently have homes. I want to break down those walls. I really hope to use this blog to have an exchange of discussions and thoughts to breakdown some of the boundaries between those who currently have a place to live and those who don’t.
So how will this Blog break down barriers? Well I (Dallas Stamper) will post issues that the homeless and PIN face and I’m hoping to have an open dialog from both the homeless and people currently in homes. Often we think things….. But we are either afraid or embarrassed to talk about them. My hope is that this Blog would be a safe place to have an open discussion. The only thing I ask is that we would be respectful of people even if we don’t agree with them.
